It’s that time of year again. The warm sunny days are here (well sometimes…). Time to grab your picnic blanket and get the hamper out from the back of the cupboard!
With National Picnic Week fast approaching (21-30 June), we are keeping our fingers and toes crossed for some decent sunny spells. Of course, no picnic would be complete without a cuppa! And ever the optimist we’ve paired up some refreshingly cool teas with our picnic food faves.
Volvic Infusion White Tea (Rhubarb & Lingonberry) paired with Mozzarella & Tomato Salad
Volvic Infusions White Tea with Rhubarb & Lingonberry is super convenient to just grab and go for that last minute picnic dash. Pair it with a quick and easy mozzarella and tomato salad, and you’re all set for a fabulous picnic tea pairing.
White tea’s delicate sweet flavour pairs really nicely with a mild, fresh cheese like mozzarella. The sour but slightly sweet lingonberry also works particularly well with the milky mozzarella. Plump for sweet cherry tomatoes, and the tartness of the rhubarb really helps to dial up the flavour!
Grab your Volvic Infusions from Boots, Tesco, WHSmith or Ocado!
Yogi Tea Mate Lemon with Green Tea paired with Salmon & Broccoli Quiche
Add a touch of zen to your picnic with Yogi Tea. Their new range of ready to drink cold teas are perfect for packing into your picnic hamper. We went for the Mate Lemon with Green Tea to pair with our fave quiche, salmon and broccoli.
Green tea goes really well with lighter flavoured foods like chicken, salad and fish. Lemon is a classic partner for fish, and then add in those tangy mate notes for a something a little different… it’s just a delight!
Ahmad Tea’s Strawberry Velvet Cake Iced Tea paired with Cheesecake
With just a tiny bit of pre-planning you can impress your friends with this gorgeous picnic dessert pairing. Brew up 4 x Ahmad Tea Strawberry Velvet Cake teabags in 1 litre boiling water, leaving to steep for 5 minutes. Stir in 3 tablespoons honey (or to taste). Then leave in the fridge overnight to cool.
When you’re ready to head out the door, pour into a flask and pop into your picnic hamper. It serves 4 so take along some cups and chopped strawberries to garnish. The beautifully sweet strawberry and vanilla flavours of the tea are sooo good with a cheesecake!
